![]() ![]() Ole Olá was choreographed & directed by the “Tango master” and also one of SYTYCD's choreographer, Fabio Robles, which Gianne also collaborated with a couple of routines. She was also the feature dancer in the shows Rio Carnivale and Ole Olá (both in Sydney). ![]() In 2010 Gianne was a special guest (as a dance teacher) in the TV Show The Biggest Looser. In 2009, Gianne was the top 8 contestant in the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance, having the opportunity to work with renowned artists and choreographers such as Jason Gilkison, Kelley Abbey, Jason Coleman, William Forsythe, Sarah Boulter, just to name a few, and with the SYTYCD top 10 National Tour, Gianne got to perform in the biggest arenas of Australia. When she first arrived in Australia in 2007, she created Sambaki – The dance of Brazil, aiming to spread the Brazilian dance and culture, and since then she has been working with in-numerous Australian companies, and has been participating as teacher, performer and choreographer in Dance Festivals, Congresses and Multicultural events such as Brisbane Multicultural Festival, Sydney Salsa Congress, Australia Dance Festival, Ritmo Brazilian Festival, Brazil Central Congress, Melbourne Latin Festival and many more. Gianne started her overseas career dancing on board of the M/V Super Star Virgo in 2004/05, traveling around Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and in the year after, she worked in China with the show Carmenco 2006/07, where she met her husband, the aussie professional Wake Boarder Justin Abbott, who gave Gianne Australia as a new home. In Brazil, Gianne has danced in several Dance Companies, participating in national and international Dance Festivals, she was the Queen of the Carnaval of Florianópolis in 1998 (her home town) and Cidadã de Samba de Florianopolis in 2007 & 2011, which in Florianopolis is the title of the best samba dancer. Gianne has experienced various styles of dance and has specialized in Afro Brazilian Dances with the Dance/Theatre Company “Liberdade Canto e Dança” - University of Campinas (UNICAMP) São Paulo, Brazil in 2000/03. Broadway star, New York Dance and Performance Bessie Award's nominee and top 10 of So You Think You Can Dance Australia, the Brazilian Gianne Abbott has been dancing since the age of 6 when she started with Classical Ballet and Jazz, since then she has never stopped dancing. ![]()
